Preview – Valencia vs Barcelona

I don’t think I need to say much to get us excited for tomorrow night.  We travel to Valencia playing at 10 pm tomorrow in one of our most difficult matches of the year.  Sure we come off a thrilling 8-0 victory but tonight in Valencia will be nothing like that.

Los Ches will be feeling good leading the league with 9 pts after 3 wins out of a possible 3.  Though, aside from a solid 1-0 win at home to Atletico Madrid, a 4-3 win at home against Racing and 1-0 away to Sporting are nothing to get overly impressed with.  Still I like Valencia, especially with some of the exciting young purchases they have made, and like to see them do well, except for tomorrow night.  The really talented Canales, who made a very predictable mistake joining Mourinho at Madrid, hopes to reignite his career with a 2 year loan.  They also picked up the Messi-like Piatti from Almeria, who without doubt will never be as good as our number 10, though he is still a tricky customer.  They also solidified the back with purchases of Victor Ruiz and Rami.  But the man of the moment is Soldado, who is in red-hot form scoring all 6 of their goals this season.

We are obviously still without Iniesta and Alexis, but good news in Pique having trained the last days and could make the bench tomorrow.  I think Pep will go for what has worked, leave the 3-4-3 option, and go with a lineup that is very predicable with: VV ; Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Abidal ; Fabregas, Busquets, Xavi, Pedro ; Messi ; Villa.

I’m really excited for this game.  It’s gonna be tough.
