Preview – Barcelona vs BATE

Tomorrow night Barça play their most irrelevant game of the season thus far.  Having secured top spot in the group with the impressive victory in the San Siro, we host BATE Borisov we nothing to lose.  The ability to rest the key men could not have come at a better time with the big game Saturday night, though Madrid themselves will also be resting their starters.  So tomorrow will be a Champions League night with a difference, it will be a time to showcase some of our younger talents and give them the taste of Europe’s most prestigious tournament.

13 first team players have been completely left out of the list for tomorrow.  And as one can see below, tomorrow will be a night for the youngsters to test their metal.  Pinto will be in goals, and I reckon of either Pique or Maxwell will start to add at least some experience in the back line.  Hopefully Fontas gets a start along side someone in the center.  Otherwise, I’m pretty sure Dos Santos will start in the midfield, possibly with Thiago and Sergi Roberto.  Upfront I am really hoping Rafinha starts with Deulofeu.  It may also not be a bad idea to get Pedro some minutes and maybe a goal or two to boast his confidence.

A quick preview tonight considering the importance of this match.  It will be nice to see the future on show but other than that, this match is as inconsequential as they come.

Full squad list:

Pinto, Piqué, Thiago, Maxwell, Fontàs, Pedro, Cuenca, Oier, Montoya, Bartra, Muniesa, Sergi Gómez, Rafinha, Jonathan dos Santos, Deulofeu, Riverola, Sergi Roberto, Kiko Femenía.
