Lucho is back. Luis Enrique Martinez officially signed his two-year contract at Camp Nou this morning before being presented to the press. Barça’s new coach appeared with Josep Maria Bartomeu and Andoni Zubizarreta and stated it was a happy day for him and that this afternoon he would begin the work of preparing next season. He said receiving the job was the completion of everything a coach could possibly want and that he couldn’t wait to hear the Barça hymn playing at Camp Nou. He spoke of the necessity of knowing how to lead and to motivate and when asked how Barça would play he responded with a smile and said Barça would continue to play attacking football which has always been the team’s intention. He also brought a laugh by saying he is “siempre positivo” a reference to the famous catchphrase of Louis Van Gaal. There are plenty of rumours about possible signings but for now the only other notable news are the agreements announced for new contracts for Gerard Piqué who will sign until 2019 and Jordi Masip who will sign until 2017 and join the first team squad.
