It’s been a long wait today for the official announcement but Barça have finally confirmed the signing of 26-year-old midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla. Barça will pay €18 million for the Croatian who was born in Switzerland with an additional €3 million to be paid for certain variables, and Denis Suarez will move to Sevilla on a two-year loan deal. Rakitic becomes Barça’s first outfield player signed for the first team under Luis Enrique and given the price and the talent of the player I’d say we have a real bargain. It just remains to be seen how well he adapts to his new club.

The defender(s) still don’t appear to be too high on the priority list of the board and perhaps even Enrique. Once thats finalised, the Alves replacement (assuming there’s no new contract) and the reserve keeper.
